Anaheim's bio
Anaheim is a 3 year old Terrier mix who came to WARL from a shelter in Miami, FL, that was out of space. Anaheim was chosen to participate in the WARL Prison Dog Program at the Patuxent Institution in Jessup, MD. She lived with and was trained by two women inmates who had been through the program with other shelter dogs. Over the course of eight weeks she completed a Basic Manners Class led by WARL trainers. During the prison program, she was house-trained and crate-trained. She also learned multiple behaviors such as Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Leave it, as well as several fun tricks like Sit Pretty and High Five. She graduated with flying colors from the WARL Prison Dog Program on July 7.
Anaheim is currently in foster care, living with a family with two teenaged daughters and an 11 year old Golden Retriever. She travels very well in the car and enjoys her walks. She is a little timid when meeting new people, but warms up quickly. She loves to chase soft toys and bring them back to her bed. She sleeps through the night in her crate, though would prefer to sleep next to you on your bed! She is a wonderful companion dog! If you are interested in meeting Anaheim or talking to her foster mom, email her at Linda.Hudson@warl.org
Hi! My name is Anaheim (but you and call me Ana) and I'm looking for a home. I came from a shelter in Miami, FL that ran out of space and ended up at the Washington Animal Rescue League in Washington, D.C. I'm a little shy, but once I get to know you we're best friends. My foster family just took me to Dewey Beach, DE where I had a great time relaxing on the beach!
